
A play I wrote during my year living in Pasadena, Fall 2012 – Spring 2013. If you know me but at all, you’ve seen the Peer Gynt tattoo, so you know my obsession with the early Ibsen weirdo of a play.
This was an attempt at an adaptation of Peer with a woman protagonist. Unfortunately, I wrote much of it by hand while working odd jobs, thinking I’d go to a computer only once I had a full first draft. Like the plot of Hedda Gabler (sort of), the accumulation of pages was lost, stolen out of my then-boyfriend’s Prius one August evening in San Francisco.
You can’t make this stuff up. I do think of returning to it, occasionally…
